LCM - Local Control Module

The PROfab LCM module is a mid-level
control software that directly interfaces to the conveyor hardware. The
physical connection to the conveyor system takes place through a field bus. It
is used in the semiconductor, hard disk drive and pharmaceutical manufacturing
environment.
The function of this local controller is to
perform basic operations on the conveyor network: running of the motors,
reading of the position sensors, tracking of WIP through memory reader devices,
point to point WIP movements … take place through the LCM module.
The LCM is a Windows NT/2000/XP based
product that executes under “INTime”, an extremely reliable real time operating
system designed for real time machine control. On the upper level, it
interfaces to the CCM, which is responsible for coordinating the zones within
its domain.
